I love helping friends design their spaces, and when that friend is also a designer, you know it's going to be great! This project—another wonderful collaboration with my dear friend Philippa—was an absolute joy from start to finish. Our client Emma wanted a kitchen that would truly be the heart of her family life, and with the extension beautifully planned by Philippa, my role was to bring the kitchen to life.
Initially, Emma had set her heart on an L-shaped layout with a peninsula, so I designed that for her. However, I also included an alternative option featuring an island, as I felt it better suited the room’s flow. The island has since become the centerpiece of the kitchen, the place where everyone naturally gathers whenever we meet in this beautiful space.
Emma’s impeccable taste and attention to detail in all the finishing touches have truly made this kitchen a stunning and functional focal point of her home.
Initially the clients were quite clear that they wanted an L-shape kitchen with a peninsular, and I made sure I drew that up as an option to present to them as well as showing them the version of the layout I felt worked best (and they ultimately opted to go with)
Another version I presented to the client with tweaks to the peninsula
